Arrowtown Choppers invites the public to come join us and get yourself involved in removing wilding conifers from the slopes of Sawpit Gully.
Meet at the Chinese Village, Arrowtown at 10am, we will then provide directions to the chopping location in Sawpit Gully.
WILDING CONIFERS i.e. pines larches firs spruces ARE INVASIVE WEEDS THAT THREATEN TO TAKE OVER OUR BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE.
This is a day for all age groups, families and friends to get involved. Families involved will have the chance to select a real Christmas Tree at the end to take home. These trees will be pre-cut to 2.4m stud and can be picked up on the day or from Arrow Junction.
Bring your own tools, if you have them, plus extra drink/food, appropriate warm clothes and sturdy footwear. Please remember weather conditions can change rapidly. A BBQ lunch will be provided from 12pm.
