On the main road into Arrowtown, graced by two towering sequoia trees, St John’s has been part of the Arrowtown community since 1873.

St John’s is part of The Wakatipu Community Presbyterian Church. 

Our worship service is 10am on Sundays and includes a children’s programme for both pre-schoolers and primary children. 

We run two Mainly Music groups for pre-schoolers on a Tuesday at 10am and  Wednesday at 1:30pm during school term.

Community Hall

A brand new addition to St John's is the church community hall available for hire with seating for up to 200 people. High standard audio-visual equipment.

 

The church is open most days for viewing.

Millbrook Resort is named after Mill Farm on which it sits. Mill farm was established by the Butel family who came from Normandy.

The Chinese Settlement was established in 1867-8 and was in existence until the mid 1930’s. The site underwent an archaeological excavation in 1984.

Arrowtown had four churches representing the early immigrant populations. Catholic, Presbyterian, Anglican and Methodist. All still operate today except for the Methodist Church.

Arrowtown was originally known as Fox’s. named after William Fox an early gold discoverer. Then it was known as The Arrow and later Arrowtown.
