We are very excited about the upcoming spring planting season.  Please pop the dates into your calendar and get ready to swap out Saturday skiing for Saturday native tree planting!  The trees we plant this spring will soon become food and habitat for our native birds, lizards & invertebrates!  This is how we make a difference!

Millbrook Resort is named after Mill Farm on which it sits. Mill farm was established by the Butel family who came from Normandy.

There has been a fire station on the current site since 1890. The hand drawn hose reel was used until the 1940’s.

Arrowtown was originally known as Fox’s. named after William Fox an early gold discoverer. Then it was known as The Arrow and later Arrowtown.

Arrowtown had four churches representing the early immigrant populations. Catholic, Presbyterian, Anglican and Methodist. All still operate today except for the Methodist Church.

They used to sell Morphine in the local drug store. That was back in the goldmining days of course!

In the 1950’s many New Zealander’s built cribs ( holiday houses) in Arrowtown and came here for their summer holidays.
