Motatapu

 On the 2nd March 2024, the iconic Motatapu is back and going to be an epic weekend of racing in the stunning backcountry of the Southern Lakes.

Spaces are filling fast, but you can still sign up for our iconic event the UDC 47km Mountain Bike Race! It is famous for its southern vibe and huge camaraderie, which brings people back again and again. Feel free to give it your all and race flat out against your mates or ride through taking in the views. We have individual and team mountain bike entries to choose from.  

And if running is your thing, we have the 42km Off-Road Marathon, with run and walk options, through four beautiful High-Country Station which are only accessible to the public on race day!

Our 15km Miners Trail with walk and run options is the perfect goal for people getting into mountain running or want an achievable health goal to train for. This Arrowtown loop starts later in the day, so you can enjoy the buzz of the finish line before heading up into the stunning and varied terrain. With epic views of the Queenstown basin, this event will get your heart rate up and give you a sense of achievement, which will stay with you for years to come.
