Matariki Arrowtown Kā-Muriwai

Matariki Arrowtown Kā-Muriwai returns on Friday 28 June 2024 from 3:30-8:30pm with the theme of "Bringing Whānau Together" weaved through performances and experiences.  View the event schedule here.

This year's event extends from Buckingham Green to Library Green, with entertainment and installations for all ages, lots of kai and two stages for entertainment.

Buckingham Green will once again feature Kapa haka performances by tamariki from the local preschool and schools with a punchier schedule and earlier start time to suit families. Library Green will showcase solo performers and poetry and be a 'scenic zone'. The Atheneaum Hall, Lakes District Museum and Arrowtown Library will also be open and filled with local artists, exhibitions, and specialists.

Established as a community event with the Arrowtown Preschool over two decades ago, at its heart, it is an event by the community for the community.
