The fabulous Arrowtown Photography Competition is on again. It features photos of Arrowtown and the surrounding area. It doesn't matter what age you are, or if you are an amateur or professional snapper. Simply choose your best photos (up to four) of activities, the town or the landscape in and around Arrowtown and enter them by 31 March 2017 to

Arrowtown is one of New Zealand's most photographed villages and we love sharing photos of our charming town.

Categories are:            

  • Best Arrowtown photograph by an amateur photographer
  • Best Arrowtown photograph by a professional photographer
  • There will be a junior prize for school age or younger

The Grand Prize (for the best amateur or professional photo) is the distinctive trophy created by The Jade and Opal Factory, based in Arrowtown. Prizes to the value of $800 will be presented during the festival.

Entries which close on 31 March are open to amateur and professional photographers. A selection of the best 20 photos will be on display in the foyer of the Lakes District Museum in Arrowtown from Thursday 20 April – Tuesday 25 April.
