The competition runs as part of the Akarua Arrowtown Autumn Festival (22nd-25th April 2022). Photographs have to be taken in the area around Arrowtown bordered by the Crown Range, Shotover River and Gibbston after 1 January 2021 and can not have been submitted previously.
Please submit your entries online using the online from below. Please ensure you title all photos with your name and "photo title" to avoid your entry being voided.
All category winners will be awarded with $100 with the exception of the Junior category and 2nd place winners, who will be awarded $50. The overall winner will receive $200 + Jade & Opal Factory trophy.
All finalists and winning photos will be on display at the Lakes District Museum (in the Foyer) from 22nd April through to late May 2022, as part of the Bayleys Arrowtown Art Exhibition also on display. Only finalists will be contacted.
6 Categories are: (Explanations in brackets)
History: (Capture the historical essence of Arrowtown - could be architecture, old relics, gold panning etc)
Seasons: (e.g Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter photos of Arrowtown)
Landscapes: (If you had to promote Arrowtown in one key magical "hero" image )
Nightscapes: (Will also accept sunrise, sunset, early evening "incl experiences" in Arrowtown)
Outdoor Recreation: (Being active in our landscape - e.g biking, running, hiking, swimming etc)
Youth (15 years or under - open category choice).
