Friday 12th Oct 2018 - Community - Family - Arts & Culture

It’s the museum’s 70th anniversary this month and we are having an Open Day this Friday 12th all day – 08:30 – 5:00pm

We have quite  a lot of fun (and all free!) stuff planned throughout the day… Nomad Safaris are setting up gold panning troughs for us out the front of the museum and we have some local gold panning champs (Megan, Stu & Justin) coming along to teach newbies how to pan.

We have lots of things for kids to do inside the museum (treasure hunts and things), dress up ‘photo booth’, arts & crafty things, some old school schoolyard games etc. Colouring competitions and prizes etc.

We also have 2 appearances during the day by ‘Miss Grey’ who is the Victorian school mistress who has been terrifying visiting school kids for years. People can come along at 11am or 3pm (don’t be late – she has a cane!) to take part in one of her classroom sessions. Yes, adults are welcome as long as they behave.
