The official night for jack-o’lanterns, trick-or-treat, dressing-up and general creepiness might not be until 31 October, but Arrowtown is celebrating early with a day of Rollicking Entertainment that caters for the whole family at the Athenaeum Hall on Saturday 29 October 2016. The mayhem will be laid on in two shifts – one for the youngsters and one that is strictly for the grown-ups.
The kids get first go with Trick or Treat, an afternoon of gross stunts, mind -blowing magic and spooky circus skills. With Lizzie and the Ladderman in the house, you can expect riotous fun, magical marvels and a chance to get up on the stage and into the show. This afternoon of mischief is suitable for children age 5 up, and there will be prizes for the scariest costume. Tickets are $10 (adults) and $5 (children) plus booking fees through eventfinda.co.nz. The on-stage entertainment starts at 2 pm but get there from 1 pm for children’s face-painting.
At 8.30 pm this talented duo of actors and circus artists turns up the heat to perform some of carny folklore's most notorious stunts in Circus of Horrors – A Halloween Cabaret. See the freakier side of spine-chilling sideshow with a nail-biting and naughty performance that is an unholy mixture of Houdini, Ripley’s Believe It or Not and those guys from The Prestige. There will be a cash bar and food available, with more entertainment after the stage show adding up to a great night out.
Seating is arranged in tables of 6 and is $30 per person plus booking fees through eventfinda.co.nz. Contact Janey at firstname.lastname@example.org for group bookings and special requests.
These halloween shows are brought to Arrowtown by Creative Queenstown and Rollicking Entertainment.
