About
The Arrowtown Promotion and Business Association Incorporated (APBA) is the incorporated society that manages the promotion of Arrowtown and the representation of the business members of the town.
It is made up of elected members of commercial ratepayers in Arrowtown.
The objectives for which the Society is established are:
- To co-ordinate and direct the co-operative marketing of Arrowtown, in order to achieve responsible and sustainable growth in Arrowtown's economy and the community as a whole.
- To develop distinctive promotional material, advertising and public relations which are effectively used to promote Arrowtown as a desirable place to visit and stay.
- To improve communication and co-operation within the Arrowtown business community and to encourage higher standards of quality in the products, service and hospitality it offers to visitors.
- To increase the calibre of existing events and to facilitate or attract new events to increase the visitor numbers at specific times of the year.
- To protect the historical character of Arrowtown.
- To hold discussions, advise and represent the Arrowtown business community in such matters that are important to attracting visitors to Arrowtown including Arrowtown's historic character, public amenities and services, and any other issues relating to any industry association, historical association, tourist association or government body.
- To maintain public relations and co-operation with the Arrowtown residential community, Destination Queenstown, Queenstown-Lakes District Council and the wider tourism industry.
- To do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.
- To use the funds of the Society for, and do all such things as may be incidental or conductive, to the attainment of the foregoing objectives or any of them. Pecuniary gain is not a purpose of the Society.
The Arrowtown Promotion and Business Association (APBA) meets every third Wednesday of the month at 2pm in the Museum board room. Members who are commercial ratepayers in Arrowtown are invited to attend by appointment with the administrator.
Elections are held every August for members of the ccommittee.

All submitters to this website must abide by the terms and conditions of the Arrowtown Promotion and Business Association (APBA). All content submitted is subject to review and approval by the Arrowtown Promotion and Business Association before being made public. Objectionable or misleading material will be deleted without reference to the submitter.
Who may display on this website?
This website is owned by the commercial ratepayers of Arrowtown. Only ratepayers who pay the commercial tourism levy are entitled to display their business on this website. Businesses within the Arrowtown School Zone may submit business listings for approval and if found to be beneficial to Arrowtown, will be displayed on this site, providing the website fees are paid.
The Arrowtown School Zone is all of Arrowtown and west towards Hunter Road from Malaghans Road, across to Lower Shotover Road and then to State Highway 6 back to Lake Hayes. East, it runs to the Nevis Bluff and incorporates all of the Crown Terrace.
Businesses in Lake Hayes Estate, Frankton and Queenstown will not be displayed on this website.
Costs to display businesses
All Arrowtown businesses that pay the commercial tourism levy are entitled to display their business without cost.
All other categories will be charged an annual fee as is set by the Arrowtown Promotion and Business Association at every Annual General Meeting.
The APBA will have sole discretion as to the display of content on this site Website fees are for the financial year beginning 1st of July to 30th of June each year Fees are payable in advance
